SUMMARY:Paterson - 4PM
DESCRIPTION:[col_one] \n \n  \nScreening: Thursday\, March 16\, 2017 – 4:00 pm\nUptown Theatre\, 55 Dunlop St. W.\, Barrie\nWritten and Directed by: Jim Jarmusch\nCast: Adam Driver\, Golshifteh Farahani\, Rizwan Manji\, Nellie\nComedy/Drama\, 14A for some coarse language\, 118 minutes\n(USA/Germany/France) \n  \n[btnsx id=”2789″] \n  \n“A lovely fable about the fragile\, fruitful and occasionally fraught relationship between creativity and everyday life.” – Geoff Andrew\, Time Out \n“An amazing little film that makes of simplicity its emblema so we can fall in love with its protagonist and the rest of the characters.” – Mikel Zorrilla\, Blog de cine \n  \nPaterson is a bus driver in the city of Paterson\, New Jersey – they share the name. Every day\, Paterson adheres to a simple routine: he drives his daily route\, observing the city as it drifts across his windshield and overhearing fragments of conversation swirling around him; he writes poetry into a notebook; he walks his dog; he stops in a bar and drinks exactly one beer; he goes home to his wife\, Laura. By contrast\, Laura’s world is ever changing. New dreams come to her almost daily. Paterson loves Laura and she loves him. He supports her newfound ambitions; she champions his gift for poetry. The film quietly observes the triumphs and defeats of daily life\, along with the poetry evident in its smallest of details. \nAwards:\nWon\, Best Actor (Adam Driver)\, Toronto International Film Festival\, 2016\nWon\, Palm Dog (Nellie)\, Nominated Palme d’Or\, Cannes Film Festival\, 2016\nNominated\, Best Actor (Adam Driver) Chicago Film Critics Association Awards\, 2016\nNominated\, Audience Award\, Gotham Awards\, 2016\nWon\, Best Actor (Adam Driver) Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards\, 2016 \n  \n[embed_video video_site=”youtube” video_url=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajqIuoXCvCU” video_width=”640″ video_height=”360″ ] \n\nEvery third Thursday of the month join us for Dinner & Movie night! This is an opportunity to enjoy a wonderful film at Uptown Theatre as well as a special menu offered by an amazing participating Restaurant. The two screening times – 4pm and 8pm will allow you plenty of time to enjoy a meal either after or before the show. This program will cater to two great tastes: that of a fine meal or stellar film. We recommend the delectable pairing of both dinner and movie\, but of course the option is there to just go to the restaurant or the theatre. The choice is yours. \nFilm tickets and meals are sold separately. \nFilm tickets: $10 for Adults\, $8 for Seniors/Students \nAdvance tickets are available online or two weeks before each screening at the Uptown Theatre box office (in the evenings an hour before their first screening).
